| Leni Singerman and
Terry Post design and hand-craft a collection of colorful, lightweight
art jewelry in the Berkshire foothills of New York. Their company started
as Leni Singerman in 1984, when Leni started making laminated plastic
earrings in her workshop in New York City, Leni is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, with a BFA in Textile Design. Terry graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with as AAS in Advertising Design, and was an art director in NYC. The jewelry is made by laminating very thin layers of different types of plastic materials (films, mylar, vinyl) together. The top layer is a film photo transfer of the design, pastel, watercolor, collage, or photograph. Individual pieces are hand cut, beaded, and twisted to form sculptural shapes that are lightweight and comfortable to wear. The earwires and posts are silver and gold plate over surgical steel. |
