Iridescent
Dreams jewelry is handmade and one of a kind. Each individually made
piece contains carefully selected, highest quality fusible art glass
and dichroic glass. Dichroic glass, developed by NASA, is a multi layer
coating placed on glass by using a highly technical vacuum deposition
process. The layers create a result similar to a gemstone, which transmits
and reflects different colors. The glass is hand cut, often ground and
then fired up to 1600 degrees in a 17-hour program, often more than
once. The jewelry primarily uses sterling silver components to ensure
beauty and durability. Iridescent Dreams Glass Art is a family run business
started by Lauren Mikol in the summer of 2004. All the pieces are created
in the studio in Huntington Beach, California.
