Bruce Jordan

Potter Bruce Jordan works in his studio, Red Cedar Pottery, located in Menomonie, Wisconsin. His creative use of multi-colored glazes gives his classic pieces a truly unique look. His work is that not-often seen combination of functionality and sculptural beauty.

" I am currently producing functional stoneware pottery incorporating a multiglaze decoration technique with an oxide overglaze. This process of using three glazes in various overlapping combinations yields nine distinct colors, and with the addition of an oxide wash over the glaze, the number is doubled.
The majority of my work is wheel-thrown, though much of it combines both wheel-throwing and handbuilding techniques. I strive to make my work functional, decorative, and to be a pleasant addition to your daily life.
All pieces are designed for use, which means that they are lead-free, dishwasher and microwave safe.
I have been a full-time studio potter for 35 years, and have been working in Wisconsin since 1978."
